The Sportset brand has long been established as a leader in Volleyball Equipment for all levels of the game, from equipment for schools and clubs up to professional equipment for elite level competitions. In 2023, Harrod Sport acquired Sportset following a mutual agreement having manufactured volleyball posts for Sportset for over 30 years. All the indoor and outdoor volleyball posts are manufactured in the UK.
About Sportset
Established 1980, Sportset set out to provide a service to volleyball players UK wide, prior to this time there had been little specific volleyball product in the UK marketplace. Sportset begun their trade by offering goods at tournaments in the early days together with the mail order catalogue. In 1990, the company was purchased by new owners, along with its stock and customer base. The new owners set out to open up the product range and deliver an enhanced service to both the UK mainland and Islands including Northern Ireland and the Republic.
In early 2000's, they opened their first online shop (Sportset.com) along with a mail order catalogue, this introduction allowed their customers more flexibility to order with low-cost delivery making the shopping experience much more user friendly and in 2007 they decided to end the posted printed catalogue for good. Over the past ten years they have also worked more closely with Volleyball England, Scottish Volleyball, the NIVA, Welsh Volleyball and the Irish Volleyball Association, the aim to use our joint marketing ability to promote grass roots volleyball.
In 2023, the UK's leading sports manufacturers, Harrod Sport, acquired Sportset following a mutual agreement after over 30 years of manufacturing volleyball posts for Sportset. Our indoor and outdoor volleyball posts are manufactured in the UK and available in aluminium or steel. Sportset and Harrod Sport volleyball posts come in a multitude of designs, ranging from the competition telescopic post, wall mounted system to demountable beach systems. Volleyball nets, post protectors and antennas also complete the range of volleyball products.
